The Two Timers hibernate for Winter…

Okay.. So we played our last show for a while @ Irish Murphys ‘Top Shelf’ last week and it was the signal for two things. One, it was our last show with our amazing Saxophonist, Hank “the Tank” Owen. He will be sadly missed, not only for his amazing playing and musical ideas, but the fact that he is a great guy to have around. The reason for the departure you ask??… Well, as a whole, the songwriting and direction of the band has and is changing. We are writing music now that is requiring less brass. I guess 12 months ago we were trying to fit as much instrumentation in as possible, to replicate the big sound from the EP, now we are stripping it all back and playing with new sounds.. So Hank has decided to put his energys into new horizons and we wish him the BEST of luck.

The second part to this, we are looking at heading back into the studio with well known producer, Jimi Maroudas. He is an exciting, young producer from Melbourne and has worked with bands such as Eskimo Joe and Bertie Blackman. We are looking to challenge ourselves and move forward with our sounds and we think Jimi is the man to help us in this! We look very much forward to getting into the studio in the coming months… Check out Jimi here.

Happy Easter and we’ll see you soon :)

First fan guitar tab!

Different people to measure a bands success in different ways but for bands themselves there are definitely some definable moments, many of these being the firsts… first gig, first cd sale, first tour, first super fan, first head lining gig etc.

It seem the two timers achieved a new first recently with our first ever song tabbed by a fan and submitted to a tab site! Check out the link below.

Nice work HY :)

New EP isn’t far away… for real this time! :)

Ok, so its been a while since the last blog and apologies for leading anyone astray with the predicted May release of ‘10 to 83′. We’ve taken a partial break over winter as many band members are working their butts of on the stage production of ‘Rent’. Nathan is hitting the stage while a good portion of the band are providing soundtrack.

Im glad to say the album design is complete, so its just final cd layout to be completed and then the cd will be sent off to be cloned many a time, so that you can get your hands apon a piece of this rather joyous sound!
Cheers, A~

Two Timers Get Romantic At The Movies

Saturday was an interesting one, we played in Village Cinemas foyer
for Valentine’s Day… we serenaded the ladies and took the mickey
out of the fellas for getting dragged along to chick flicks haha.

Even more spun out cos I used to work there in my college uni days!
Good fun.
