The Two Timers hibernate for Winter…
Okay.. So we played our last show for a while @ Irish Murphys ‘Top Shelf’ last week and it was the signal for two things. One, it was our last show with our amazing Saxophonist, Hank “the Tank” Owen. He will be sadly missed, not only for his amazing playing and musical ideas, but the fact that he is a great guy to have around. The reason for the departure you ask??… Well, as a whole, the songwriting and direction of the band has and is changing. We are writing music now that is requiring less brass. I guess 12 months ago we were trying to fit as much instrumentation in as possible, to replicate the big sound from the EP, now we are stripping it all back and playing with new sounds.. So Hank has decided to put his energys into new horizons and we wish him the BEST of luck.
The second part to this, we are looking at heading back into the studio with well known producer, Jimi Maroudas. He is an exciting, young producer from Melbourne and has worked with bands such as Eskimo Joe and Bertie Blackman. We are looking to challenge ourselves and move forward with our sounds and we think Jimi is the man to help us in this! We look very much forward to getting into the studio in the coming months… Check out Jimi here.
Happy Easter and we’ll see you soon
